entry 050 | welcome to the mag ⭐
hi, hello, & welcome to the new blog my studies!!! 🦋
i’ve been wanting to change the way i do this blog for a while, mostly because i realized i don’t really want it to be a traditional blog. i want it to feel more like a little online magazine that happens to be written by me. somewhere between a personal blog, a collection of things i find interesting, and the kind of magazine you pick up at a coffee shop (and end up reading it from cover to cover). ☕️
soooo, welcome to the new version!
starting this week, i’ll be posting three times a week; mondays will be the observation desk, where i write about small things i notice in everyday life that i find funny, interesting, or just worth thinking about for a few minutes. wednesdays will be the investigation, which is where i get to take a completely unnecessary question and give it far more attention than it deserves. and fridays will be the culture section, which will cover things like the internet, social media, technology, college culture, trends, and whatever else i happen to have an opinion about that week.
i also wanted each post to have a few smaller recurring sections, because what is a magazine without a page of things you’re currently obsessed with? every entry will have a currently section, a shortlist of five things i’m into that week, one very specific opinion, and, for the sake of public accountability, things i googled this week. 🔎
and if you’re here because you know me from somewhere else on the internet, there are a few places you can find me. i post videos on youtube at sincerely, studybutterfly, share more day-to-day things on instagram at @sincerely.studybutterfly + @sarada.sivasailam, and talk about the intersection of lifestyle and tech on syntax with studybutterfly on spotify! i also have @thru.saradas.lens, which is where i put my photography (and am attempting to post more!). 📸
(p.s. if you wanna check out my other socials ➡️ https://linktr.ee/sarada.sivasailam)
basically, this is going to be the place where all of those interests can coexist. there’s going to be college stuff, internet culture, creative projects, random observations, things i’m currently interested in, and probably a few topics that i will become inexplicably invested in for 72 hours.
i don’t really know exactly what this bloggish magazine is going to become yet, which feels appropriate. i’d rather figure it out as i go!
anyway, thanks for being here & i hope you find something you like. 💌
see you soon.
sincerely,
sarada 💫
