entry 020 | unlocking the power of small habits with Notion 🌱

hello beautiful people!

today i wanted to talk about how you can start prepping for the new year by working on your goals now. to do this, start creating small habits, because it can truly change your life! i’ve realized that it’s not always the big actions that lead to success, but the little things we do consistently. one of the tools that has made tracking these habits so much easier for me is Notion; it’s honestly been a game-changer. by integrating tiny habits into my daily life and using Notion to track and manage them, i’ve been able to see major shifts in my productivity, mindset, and overall happiness. let me walk you through how you can use small habits (and Notion!) to level up your life:

1. the 2-minute rule ⏱️

i love the 2-minute rule because it helps me get things done quickly without feeling overwhelmed. if something takes less than 2 minutes, i do it right away. this keeps me from having a long to-do list piling up. i track these quick tasks in Notion’s simple to-do list, and the satisfaction of checking off those tiny tasks really adds up!

2. start small, build big 🚀

instead of going for huge, intimidating goals, break them down into bite-sized habits. for instance, if you want to read more, start by reading one page a day. slowly, that will grow into a daily habit. Notion makes it so easy to set up habit trackers - just create a simple table or use templates to track your progress every day, and watch how it builds momentum!

3. celebrate the wins 🎉

celebrating small wins is so important to staying motivated. whether it’s completing your morning routine or finishing a chapter in a book, take a moment to celebrate yourself. Notion can be a great place to log these achievements, too. i like to add a “celebration” section to my habit trackers where i give myself a virtual high-five (or a sticker!) whenever i reach a milestone!

4. be kind to yourself 🤍

it’s totally okay to slip up now and then. the point of building small habits is consistency, not perfection. when life gets in the way, just get back on track as soon as you can. Notion’s templates let you track your habits in a non-judgmental, flexible way - so if you miss a day, you can just adjust and keep moving forward without stress.

5. create a habit tracker 📊

Notion is my go-to tool for tracking all kinds of habits. it’s customizable, flexible, and visually motivating. whether it’s a simple checklist or a more complex system with goals and notes, Notion helps me stay organized and reflect on my progress. the visual representation of my habits gives me an extra boost of motivation, especially when i see how much i’ve accomplished over time.

small habits really do make the biggest impact in the long run, and when you have tools like Notion to keep you on track, it’s even easier to stay consistent. i’d love to hear about your favorite small habits and how you keep track of them - share in the comments below! let’s support each other in building the best version of ourselves this winter. 🌟

sincerely,
