project 50 = a comprehensive lifestyle program designed to help individuals unleash their full potential and achieve success in all areas of their lives, & as you can see from the title, it’s a 50-day commitment, holding you accountable for the goals that you want to achieve.
starting tomorrow, i’ve decided to complete project 50. i told myself, at the beginning of 2024, that this year i will become a higher version of myself. not highest, because i know that every individual is ever growing and ever changing. but definitely higher.
right now, i’ve already had ups and downs. it’s only been 1.5 months since 2024 started, and i’ve already restarted multiple times. i used to tell myself that if i screwed up at the beginning of the year, i couldn’t do it at all for the rest of the year.
a year ago, i would have told myself not to do this project, because i'm not starting it on the first day of the year, month, or week. it brings me peace that i’m not the person i was a year ago. i'm starting on tuesday, february 20th, 2024.
i tell myself that every day is a new day, that every morning brings you new chances & opportunities.
so here’s why i’m starting project 50. i have a LOT of goals and visions for this year. and i’ve told myself that i won’t stop working towards them until it’s my actual reality. project 50 is known to build habits and a healthy routine.
through the thousands of self development videos, multiple self help books, and self growth podcasts, there’s one thing that all media tells you. small habits compound into bigger results.
project 50 tells every individual to follow SEVEN steps to achieve consistent habits & growth.
1.) WAKE UP BEFORE 8 AM
my goal time to wake up is 5 AM, i want time to get ready for the day, feel energized, and get some work done before i get to school at 8 AM!
2.) FOLLOW A MORNING ROUTINE (1 HOUR)
i think this works out perfectly, because if i woke up at 5 AM and followed a morning routine for an hour, i would be energized at 6 AM. this gives me till around 7:00 AM to be productive and get some studying/work done. i’ll be able to get some breakfast in and then get to my bus stop :)
3.) WORK OUT FOR AN HOUR
for working out, i have a two part plan. every day, i’ll hop on the treadmill to do my 12-3-30 (12 incline, 3 speed, 30 minutes), and then follow along a pilates routine from youtube.
4.) READ
i absolutely love reading. i already read constantly, and have a lot to tackle on my tbr. however, i want to work on reading more non-fiction. not just self help and self development, but also biographies, philosophies/spirituality, memoirs, etc.
5.) WORK ON A NEW SKILL (1 HOUR)
giving myself this time not only gives me time to experience/learn new things, but it also gives me time to disconnect from the stress and anxiety of school studying and homework.
6.) FOLLOW A HEALTHY DIET
i think this might be the one i struggle with the most. as a 16 year old, i’m very addicted to chocolate. i’m always finding new ways to get some more chocolate from friends or my sister, so i’m going to avoid this habit to the best of my ability.
7.) JOURNAL
journaling. the project’s blueprint states we should track our progress through journaling what we did + how we felt every day. i’m honestly so excited for this, because i know i’ll read through the entire journal at the end of project 50, and be nothing short of proud of myself.
i've built a project 50 tracker on my notion, with embedded reminders on notion calendar. if you want to see how i did that, subscribe to my youtube channel here and turn on reminders, because the next video coming out is "hacking my way through life | a notion 101."
i'll be posting weekly updates about project 50, and random rants, so be sure to come back every monday & wednesday!
love you guys so so much, thank you for reading!
see you in the next one :)
sincerely,
