entry 004 | how to become motivated and be productive 🎀

hello and good morning to those reading! or afternoon or night or whatever it is when you're reading!

today's post is actually a request from one of my friends, smrithi! she has a blog of her own and you should totally check it out :) https://smrithistudio.weebly.com/

okay okay okay, now, let's get into it!

now, right off the bat, imma be honest, i am also a teen who sometimes procrastinates. but, to be fair, i have gotten MUCH better at it.

there's two parts to this title; become motivated & be productive. let's talk about the first one.

motivation, to me, is just drive to do the best you possibly can. think about it, if you stay in bed as late as you possibly can, or just rotting in bed when you are absolutely fine, you're just not looking forward to anything. you have to look forward to something, have that something you are constantly working on. that could be anything, reading a book, going to the gym, painting a new piece, working on a new project, ANYTHING! you need a passion project. something you truly love to do, but you never started. or maybe something you stopped. passion projects can be anything. this is what creates your motivation.

now, let's talk about PRODUCTIVITY. you have your motivation, your drive. this makes you get out of the bed in the morning, or finally get up and start working on it. but we all know we have that boring work we definitely don't want to do... AP homework, that one project, studying for that test. here's where my videos come into play. when i first started my channel, i would constantly watch "study with me" videos, that used the pomodoro timer. this is when you work/study for 25 minutes, and have a break for 5. sometimes, there are longer versions, like 50 mins, then 10. i've posted 2 videos like this, so you would use your first session to work on boring stuff, then the second session for your passion project!

i have a lot more tips, but i'll share those in the future! if you do want to know more, reach out to me through the messages here on my website, comment on this post (or under my last youtube video), or dm me on insta -> @sincerely.studybutterfly

love you guys, and thanks for readinggg!!

sincerely, studybutterfly 🦋💗

i feel like every year there’s this unspoken expectation that january 1st is supposed to flip some switch. suddenly you’re more disciplined, more productive, more confident, and everything feels clear
